Taking into account the comments received at the public exhibition and the findings of the transport survey, the project team has spent recent months working up a revised masterplan for the Allens West site. This masterplan was given outline planning approval by Stockton on Tees Planning Committee on 23 July 2008.
Key changes to the masterplan include:
- A residential care home
- The provision of sheltered accommodation
- The inclusion of a local convenience store
- A car park beside the football fields
- A park and ride and cycle and ride facility for the benefit of Allens West station
- Enlarged areas of public open space
- Enlarged nature reserves
- New footpath and cycle routes
